CONGRATULATIONS FOR A JOB WELL DONE!
Ss. Joachim and Anne’s Early Childhood Program consists of grades Pre-K For All through grade 3. During these formative years, emphasis is placed on the academic, social and spiritual growth of our students. Our young scholars explore, discover, build, and create to learn new concepts and skills. Early Childhood Program gathers together as a community to pray, learn social skills, share, and celebrate.
Collaborative problem solving develops responsibility, provides students with opportunities to make unique contributions to the classroom community and encourages positive decision making. Students also learn to work independently, as they become critical thinkers in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies and all content areas of study. An emphasis is placed on working together and acknowledging the unique contribution of each student to the class.
As in all the grade levels, meeting the needs of our learners is paramount. In the classroom, teachers create a differentiated curriculum to meet the various instructional levels of our students, rich in literacy development, science exploration, mathematics, music, art and technology (STREAM).To further support our students and teachers, a reading interventionist and learning specialists enhance the program.
By the end of third grade, students are ready to assume more independence for their school day, including their academic commitments as well as their social interactions as they prepare to transition to the Middle School Program. There they will embark on a new journey and take on more responsibility for themselves and their academic growth.
Welcome to Saints Joachim and Anne’s Pre-K for All Program. The first day of class will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Orientation will take place on Wednesday, September 9th at 12:00, after dismissal, in the gym. The teachers will meet with you to discuss the program and any questions and/or concerns you may have.
For the first week of school only, September 9th through September 11th classes will begin at 8:00 AM and dismiss at 12:00 PM. Each child should bring a backpack as well as a change of clothes on the first day. The backpack should be large enough to fit a folder inside it.
Ms. Cotellessa and Mrs. Cullinan, our Pre-K for All teachers, along with Ms. Liz and Ms. Michelle, their assistants, have been working diligently to prepare their rooms and to develop Common Core lessons in conjunction with the standards.
We are delighted that you can participate in this exciting program of learning, social and emotional development, communication, language and literacy and physical development.
